Hello, I'm Dale and thank you for taking the time to have a look around. I live in Hexham, Northumberland, with my wife, Lisa and my 2 boys, Lewis and Ollie (Oliver is what we call him when he's been naughty). Other than wedding photography, I also shoot commercially, architecture and interiors, food and product photography. I also produce videos, fly drones and have worked on a number of TV ads over the years. That's me on my first ever TV ad shoot for a whiskey company in The Lakes. Commercial photography is very different to weddings, you often get a brief as to what the client wants exactly and you have to make sure you for fill the brief. You can reshoot any amount of times as your most often than not, in a fully controlled environment. Wedding photography has it's own brief almost. You need to get the key shots, first kiss etc... which brings it's own pressures, which I love. There's no second takes in wedding photography which for some is daunting, but for me, having been part in a number of weddings is second nature and I love it.

What I enjoy most about wedding photography is that it's all about telling the story of your day. Capturing the moments that not everyone sees, the looks between you both as you take your vows, the moment of pride as a father sees his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time, or just those cheeky moments your guests get up to whilst enjoying your day that you can look back on in years to come with amazing memories.

My style, is candid and documentary. There's always opportunities for posed shots with you both with your friends and family, but as a rule, I like to go with the flow of the day and let you enjoy every second of it without having to be dragged away for hours by your photographer. With that in mind, if I do see a chance of a beautiful sunset, or interesting reflection and I'll ask you to hang back for a moment so we can get the shot. I'm always on the lookout for an epic shot.

I like to think that I'm a fun and easy going type of guy, I like to laugh, I'm chilled, I see when a groom is nervous and needs a reassuring pat on the back or quick laugh to break his tension. As for my brides, I'm not there to get in the way, I'll just quietly go about, getting those forever images. If you need a hand with anything, I'm there. I've been known to be on all fours looking for earing backs in my time.

What I love about my job, is witnessing the love between 2 people and the joining of 2 families. Seeing the bride in her dress well before most in the wedding party. Telling her groom how amazing she looks. Telling the story.

My least favourite part is the time between delivering the images and videos to my couples and getting the first text saying they are blown away. Its agonising, so please, if I am lucky to be the one to capture your day, don't leave me hanging! I don't do this just for money, I do it because I enjoy what I do and love the feeling of knowing my couples have cherished memories for years to come.

Well, that's all from me. If you like what you've seen and read, please get in touch for a chat, I'll be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks, Dale
